Vehicles in Germany's City Found Smeared with Nazi Symbols in Human Blood, Law Enforcement Confirm

Police stated they were notified by a resident who found a vehicle in Hanau smeared with red-colored liquid

Around fifty vehicles have been covered with what seems to be human blood in the Germany's municipality of Hanau close to Frankfurt, as reported by law enforcement.

Cars, exterior walls and mailboxes were vandalized, in some cases with swastikas, they stated in a statement.

Officers say they were contacted in the late hours on Wednesday evening, when a individual noticed that a car in the Lamboy area of Hanau had been covered with a red-colored liquid.

The substance had been drawn in the pattern of a banned symbol, they stated.

Police then located numerous other vandalized vehicles and house walls in the surrounding area.

Nazi symbols are illegal in Germany under regulations banning the public display of Nazi-era symbols.

Officials state early analysis indicate the liquid was likely human bodily fluid.

"There is still no indication as to where it came from; officials are currently not cognizant of any injuries in association with the incident," they added.

Municipal representatives announced they were trying "to unravel the mystery" and have appealed to the residents for information.

A high-ranking official said the vandalism made him speechless and needed to be resolved promptly.

"This incident strikes at the center of Hanau and reopens the trauma of the far-right attack in 2020," he stated on online, referring to the murder of nine people by a shooter aiming at residents of migrant background in 2020.
