Nineteen of Daniil Medvedev's 21 titles have been won on hardcourt
A revitalized Medvedev claimed his initial title for nearly 30 months with a win over opponent Moutet in the tournament title decider.
The Russian, a former world number one, has had a challenging year, managing just one match at the big events and experiencing a difficult moment at the American major.
His unpredictability on the tennis tour - and difficulties with his serve in specific - caused him falling of the elite rankings and eventually parting ways with long-time coach his previous coach.
Currently working with his coach and Rohan Goetzke, Medvedev has consistently progressed in the last few weeks - culminating in a hard-fought 7-5 4-6 6-3 win over opponent Moutet.
This represents Medvedev's initial trophy after the 2023 Rome Masters and initial on a hardcourt since March of the previous year.
Success also means Medvedev has won 21 victories at twenty-one various events.
"It's the first time I am participating in a event with my children simultaneously, so to secure a title is especially meaningful," said ranked player Medvedev.
"This victory is in tribute of my child my daughter, because the first title I achieved when my first daughter my daughter was delivered was for her."
The athlete, the past champion, had lost his last six championship matches, including in the German tournament previously this season.
The player's defensive approach and frequent emotional displays on the playing surface had led observers to question if his skill to play at the highest level was over.
However the athlete has made changes in recent weeks, making an effort to advance forward and compete aggressively, supported by an improved serve.
He came back from a disadvantage in the first set against the difficult Frenchman, securing 4 of the final five games to go ahead.
The competitors traded breaks in the second set before the Frenchman, attempting for his initial tour victory, took control to create a third set.
He saved four initial break points in a tight third set before Medvedev secured a break to 15 to close out the victory.
Appropriately, the winner secured the title with a rally at the net area, with Moutet unable to manage a volley after over two and a half hours.
